Stay Safe, Be Strong

Hello fellow world lovers! We find ourselves navigating through new territory. For some, this might be extremely stressful, and for others, the bonus time at home could be just what has been needed…and is likely long overdo. In my regular job, I’m considered “non essential” and will be home with my kids until it’s safe to go back to work. This is both a blessing, and a stressful situation, for me!

On the one hand, I truly love being with my kids! I enjoy coming up with fun activities and projects, watching the way their little minds work while we do homeschool, and you guys...this is time we don’t get back! I’m that mom that cries her eyes out on the first day of school every year because I know I’m going to see them less, this is bonus time! On the other hand, I’m self employed and own the building I work in, I have to keep paying to keep the place open while making zero dollars. Stress!! It’s also very hard for me to slow down, I’m a doer. I’m not sure how to relax, and I feel a constant need to be busy. Needless to say, my house is staying super clean during this time, ha!

In order to keep my mind stimulated I’m currently reading a variety of books. I started Braving the Wilderness, by Brene Brown (you know she’s my FAVORITE), I’ve also been slowly working my way through a very different book called Flights, by Olga Tokarczuk. It’s different, but so am I! Before our local library closed I grabbed A Tree Grows In Brooklyn, a friend recommended it to me a few months ago and there it was looking right at me so I brought it home.

As usual, my podcast playlist has mostly consisted of The Ed Mylett Show. I find his podcasts to be so inspiring and I always have a take away from them. My girl, Brene Brown, also recently launched her podcast show called Unlocking Us With Brene Brown. I have listened to them all, and I love them all. I always feel like she is speaking directly to me, and that usually makes me feel better about alllll the things I’m currently feeling!

On my Instagram page, I try to share a new podcast with you every week, and I usually ‘story’ what I’m currently reading. I would love to know what you’re reading/listening to, and what you’re thoughts are on what I’m sharing with you! Drop a line in the comments!
